laser hair removal
Is it Permanent?
The laser that we use is called the Coolglide this particular laser
is cleared by the FDA for Permanent Hair reduction. The FDA defines
permanent hair reduction as the long term, stable reduction in the
number of hairs re-growing after a treatment regime. Treatment results
do vary among patients. What does it
feel like?
The laser treatments may feel like a mild sensation for a fraction
of a second. It has a built-in cooling tip that not only helps to
protect the skin but also helps to minimize discomfort. The Coolglide
Laser is not as painful as waxing!! Ouch!
What
areas of the body can be treated?
All areas except for the area immediately around the eye. Common areas
are face, legs, arms, underarms and back. It can also treat sensitive
areas like the chest, nipples and bikini line. How
long do the treatments take?
An upper lip and chin can be treated in 5 to 10 minutes. Underarms
or bikini lines usually take 15 to 20 minutes. Legs and backs take
longer. Very often, follow – up treatments are shorter because
there is much less hair to treat. How
many treatments are necessary?
This is very important to understand. Hair goes through 3 stages of
development. Typically in the anagen stage, the hair will respond
more effectively to treatment. At any given time, only one third of
human hair is in the anagen stage. For this reason, it is necessary
to treat an area at least 3 times with the treatments spaced approximately
6 weeks apart in order to see the best and longest lasting results.
Most people on average require 4 to 6 treatments for maximum response
and the best long-term results. For any clients that require more
than the average treatments after 8 treatments we offer 50% off any
further treatments in that particular area. What
should I expect after a treatment?
There is often no immediate change. However, sometimes the treated
area may be slightly red for a short period of time. Because the Coolglide
Laser is able to treat all skin types the risks of any other side
effects are very low compared to other machines. How
do Coolglide lasers compare with other hair removal methods?
Shaving, waxing and depilatory creams are all temporary methods which
must be repeated on a frequent basis. Coolglide lasers offer permanent
hair reduction for lasting results. How
do Coolglide lasers compare with Electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a tedious, invasive, and painful process that involves
inserting a needle into each individual hair follicle and delivering
an electrical charge to them one at a time. Electrolysis often requires
years of treatments at regular intervals. By delivering light energy
to hundreds of hair follicles at a time, Coolglide lasers effectively
treats an area in just seconds that would take over an hour with electrolysis.
Why choose CoolGlide Lasers over other laser
hair removal systems?
Using the latest technology in laser hair removal, CoolGlide Laser
Systems can rapidly treat large areas without the limitations of older
technologies. The CoolGlide System’s longer wavelength allows
it to be used safely and effectively on patients with light or dark
skin as well as tanned skin. Unlike other systems. (i.e IPL) The system
also has a cooling unit in it to make it alot more comfortable and
reduces side effects which some hair removal systems experience.
